  for those who are not familiar with the story heres the page.

  so just to sum it up a bit, this girl caught her dad watching porn, told me about it and then talk about ways to get him to stop watching it.

  apparently she never told the elders and apparently he stopped watching porn.

  Dune, I agree with what has been said - this must be reported to the authorities without delay. Ideally by the victim herself or her sister, if possible.

  I have some experience in dealing with child abuse (I was a cop for 30 years). My first thought is that it would be uncommon for the father to have abused only the younger daughter.

  I wonder if the elder daughter brought up the 'watching porn' topic with you in the first place as a way to introduce the abuse, or even that she was trying to pluck up the courage to tell you that she had been abused herself? That would be consistent with cases I have experience of.

  I can't decide whether it's a wind-up or not.

  But on the age of consent issue, isn't there at least one European country (?Denmark) where it's 13?

  And in some states in the US a girl can marry at 13, can't she? (e.g NH?) Am I right?

  For information, in the UK it appears that IBSA, WTBTS and each local congregation have to register as charities. Any that receives over £10k p.a. has to file accounts, which are available online.

  Tip: it seems as if each is registered with the town name first. Search the keyword 'jehovah' and it should come up.

  A religious organization is not transparent to shareholders. It is by its very definition heremetically sealed from prying eyes." With respect, this is not the case in the UK. If you go to the 'Charities Commission' website, the 2005 accounts are posted there. I found that the International Bible Students Assocn owns property worth £63million, including some in Barbados. Full time volunteers received £80 per month plus a £300 annual bonus. The accounts and balance sheet of any limited company or registered charity in the UK is public information (as is details of ownership - and often price paid for - any building or piece of land).

  Did Russell ask that no publications be written after he died?

  there is a debate brewing on wikipedia over whether russell's will stated that no new publications be made by the watchtower society, and if rutherford violated his will.. the relevant portion from his will reads:as the society has already pledged to me that it will publish no other periodicals, it shall also be required that the editorial committee shall write for or be connected with no other publications in any manner or degree.. .

  what's your opinion?.

  Thanks for the info. So as I understand it, each congregation should be preparing accounts/balance sheet.

  As far as WTS is concerned, a loan to a congregation should be regarded as a WTS asset. Interest payments would be receipts for a/cs purposes.

  If WTS forecloses, the value of the KH becomes a WTS asset, and the rents should be recorded as 'income'.

  Has anyone had a good look at WTBTS accounts, do we know?
